These Terms and Conditions, may be amended from time to time, apply to all our services directly or indirectly (through distributors) made available online, through any mobile device by email or by telephone. By accessing, browsing, and using our (mobile) website or any of our applications through the platform (hereafter collectively referred to as the “website”) and/or by registering for the Event, you acknowledge and agree to have read, understood and agreed to the Terms and Conditions set out below (including the privacy statement).
1. General
1.1. LINE FRIENDS City Light Walk (“the Event”) is organised by 42Technology and Royalworkz and is referred to collectively as “Organiser” in accordance with the LINE FRIENDS City Light Walk 2024 Terms and Conditions.
1.2. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), voice/video recording or any other media recording of the Event in 42Technology and Royalworkz’s promotional and communication materials disseminated through various channels and platforms for the purpose of publicity, marketing, and distribution to sponsors or third-party media entities. These may be in the form of newsletters, annual reports, corporate website, and social media.
1.3. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions without prior notification.
1.4. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event at any time without prior notice, in which case the Organiser will make reasonable efforts to inform the Participant of the cancellation or postponement prior to the date of the Event. If the Event is cancelled, no refund shall be made, and the Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused.
1.5. The Organiser’s decision is final and The Organiser (and/or any of its officers and employees) is hereby irrevocably released from all or any liabilities and NO further/other claims against The Organiser (and/or any of its officers and employees) arising out of the Agreement.
1.6. By registering for the Event, participants are deemed to have agreed to the following:
- Providing true, accurate, current, and complete information about the Participant contained in the registration form (the "Registration Data"); and (ii) maintain and promptly update the Registration Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete.
- Participants(s) are deemed to have given their consent to their information being collected and used for the purpose of organising LINE FRIENDS City Light Walk 2024 and for such use as permitted under the Personal Data Protection Act.
- Receiving information from The Organiser about related promotions and Event updates via SMS and Email.
2. Registration
2.1. All registrations will be done online at https://theplayfest.com
2.2. A registration fee will be charged per participant. Please refer to price table for each category.
2.3. Registration is deemed complete when full payment is successfully made and accompanied by a duly completed registration form. A confirmation email will be sent to the participant’s email address.
2.4. Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason. In addition, registration fees are non-transferable.
2.5. Completion of the registration form represents the Participant’s agreement to abide by the terms and conditions of the LINE FRIENDS City Light Walk 2024.
2.6. Each participant may only participate in one category.
2.7. Upon successful registration, participants are not allowed to change the category that they have registered for.
2.8. The closing date for registration is on 27 September 2024 or upon the Event reaching its targeted capacity, whichever is the earlier. Any extension for registration will reflect on the registration page.
2.9. The Organiser will not be responsible for any dispute arising from incomplete or incorrect information submitted by participants.
2.10. Participants below 18 years old must be accompanied for the run or walk and be registered by their parent(s)/an adult. The Organiser reserves the right to limit and refuse entries without assigning any reason or giving notice.
3. Cancellation
3.1. Once the registration has been duly processed, there shall be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually take part for any reasons whatsoever.
3.2. Upon successful registration, participants are not allowed to change the category that they have registered for, and registration entry is not transferable.
4. Event Pack Collection
4.1. Participants who registered for the 3km walk or the 7km run, or purchased any merchandise, will need to indicate whether they prefer to collect their items or have them delivered. Participants who wish to collect their items can do so on either September 28 or September 29, between 12 PM and 6 PM at Clarke Quay Central.
4.2. For event pack collection, all participants are required to produce their Confirmation Slips for verification purposes. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse collection by participants who do not present the required documents.
4.3. If participants are unable to collect their event packs in person, they may authorise a representative to collect on their behalf. The following documents must be presented when the representative is collecting the event pack:
- Event pack collection authorisation form
- Participant’s confirmation slip
4.4. Size of T-shirt is subject to availability. No exchange of T-shirt will be allowed.
5. Event Day
5.1. The Organiser reserves the right to remove any unattended bags at the Event premises for security reasons and will not be responsible for any losses and/or damages to the belongings. The Organiser also reserves the right to check any item or baggage deposited.
5.2. Only registered participants for the respective categories are allowed access to the Start Point.
5.3. Participants must always wear their wrist band during the event. For safety reasons, Participants not wearing their wrist band will be asked to leave the course by Event officials.
5.4. Participants are not allowed to commence before the actual start time of the event category for which they registered for.
5.5. All participants are required to report at the Start Point at least 15 minutes prior to flag-off time.
5.6. A grace period of 15 minutes after the commencement of the walk will be given for latecomers. Any participant who reports later than this grace period will not be allowed to participate in the run and walk.
6. Safety & Medical Advisory
6.1. Whilst the Organiser will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the Participant’s safety, participants take part in the LINE FRIENDS City Light Walk 2024 at their own risk and the Organiser will not, to the fullest extent permitted by law, be responsible or held liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, sustained or suffered, howsoever arising and whether before, during or after the Event.
6.2. It is the responsibility of participants to certify themselves fit for the Event. A Participant must retire from the Event immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, the Event director, marshal and/or other designated officials. The Participant shall not hold the Organiser responsible or liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, sustained or suffered as a result of his participation in the Walk.
6.3. Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers, personal mobility devices and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the route other than wheelchairs and mobility devices for persons with disabilities, and medical vehicles.
6.4. The Organiser reserves the right to stop any participant from continuing the event for safety reasons.
6.5. Participants who are unwell or injured should inform the officials at the next nearest station and seek medical attention. If the participant is midway between stations and is unable to continue, he/she should seek help from other participants to inform the officials.
6.6. A participant must retire from the walk immediately if requested by any member of the official medical staff.
6.7. Participants should prepare themselves adequately over several weeks before the Event by gradually increase the duration and intensity of their training.
6.8. Participants should ensure that they are well-rested and well-hydrated prior to the walk.
6.9. Participants are advised not to attend the Event should they have fever, cough, breathing difficulties or severe muscle ache.
6.10. Participants who have doubts about their suitability to participate in this Event (e.g. those on medication or those who have had recent health conditions) are advised to consult their medical practitioner prior to participation in the Event.
6.11. To minimise injuries, always do at least 15 minutes of warm-up/stretching before the start and at the end of the walk. Medical and water points will be set up along the route. Participants are encouraged to run or walk at a pace they are comfortable with.
6.11. Participants are advised against the consumption of alcohol or stimulants or any kind of drugs before the event.
6.12. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the route as if deems fit for the safety of the Participant(s) and/or to avoid any hazards along the route and may do so at any time without prior notice to the Participant(s). In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the date of the Event. The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience suffered because of such changes.
6.13. Participants of the online challenge acknowledge that they will participate and complete their challenge in a manner chosen by them, at locations chosen by them and at their own risk.
6.14. Participants of the online challenge acknowledge that the Organiser will not provide volunteers, marshals, or medical personnel assistance to any participant.
